CBSE 12th Board Exams, JEE Main, NEET 2021 LIVE Updates: Meeting Over, Lack of Consensus Among States

CBSE 12th Board Exams, JEE Main, NEET 2021 LIVE Updates: Meeting between several high-profile ministers of the Narendra Modi government to decide on conducting class 12 board exams and national level competitive entrance exams including JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and JEE NEET is taking place. The meeting which started at 11:30 am is still continuing due to what seems to lack of consensus. Opposition is against holding the examination. While Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has said that holding exams is unfair to students, AAP-leader Manish Sisodia has demanded for vaccination before the examination.

While there has been a demand for the cancelation of boards, it is likely that the exams will be held for selective subjects which are necessary for college admissions. News18.com has accessed the proposal sent by CBSE to the ministry, however, a final decision will be announced today. A final date of holding the NEET and JEE Main remaining sessions are also expected today. For CBSE, the dates are likely in June, while the mode of exams and assessment will be finalized today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted, “a wider consultation” before taking the final call, Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank informed. Thus, apart from the high-profile union ministers the meeting also has education ministers from states and education secretaries. The meeting is being chaired by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
